I use Blue Magic on the Stanley.

The hull sides with with a Bosch angle polisher at 1800 rpm using a wool bonnet, the rest by hand.

Badley oxidized areas such as the transom pre apply an acid based boat cleaner.

My boat is welded plate, I would not use acid on a riveted boat..

After compounding the hull is black and sticky. Remove and polish with old towels covered in flour. The flour soaks up the oxidization and stops smearing.

Takes me about 2 hours per side.

Spray with hose/power washer, splash with 50/50 vinegar/water mix, dry off, use wire brush/wheel drill attachment for tougher stains/scratches. Sanding lightly will bring back some shine to it.

I've heard that some pontoon polish work very well to keep the shine going but haven't tried anything along those lines yet.
