I asked this question the other day and all agree to remove and clean carbs. Today I took both carbs off again and made sure every hole was clean. I did however notice the OUTSIDE tube that goes around the small pick up tube in the center is cracked on one side. I don't see this tube listed in any of the kits. Could this cause the motor to not idle? It will run all day with the choke on. This is a new to me motor and I have not had it out on the water yet.

As I learned the hard way, check to see if the float is opening.

It's not getting enough fuel if it will run with the choke on. If you are certain the carbs are clean then check the fuel pump.

I think those tubes suck fuel, if that is the case, it could cause problems. I am sure some with more knowledge will come along and share more information.

Yes the tubes are the pickup for the low and high speed curcuit. The small one being the low speed.

I would think that the high speed tube being "cracked" or split would cause an over rich condition rather than a lean one if anything.
