I am trying to rebuild the Weber carb on my 1996 7.4L Bravo 3 engine. The serial number on the carb is 9779S 1525.
The problem I am having is that the manual for the Weber carb (under the adults only section) says to remove 9 bolts to separate the top and bottom section of the carb. I can only find 8 bolts. Anyone know if the last bolt is hidden inside somewhere or maybe on the bottom of the carb. I can't find it anywhere and the picture in the manual is pretty vague as it is hard to see all the bolts it is referring to.
Also the directions say the carb should have a vacuum hose, however there was not vacuum hose on the carb. The only "hoses" that were connected to the carb were the fuel sight tube and the fuel line. Was there a modification done to the Weber carbs where the vacuum hose was removed? I'm thinking I have the electric choke so there would be no need for the vacuum hose. Does this sound correct?
Thanks
