technically yes, that barrel is way to small for that size motor, the exhaust alone will do that. but you motor has a hydro-electric lower unit, that automatically default to forward the the motor stops, so it starts in forward, just for a second, and reverts to forward just as you kill the motor. you have to use muffs to test the motor. i also suggest removing the prop, so you do not have to have a knee replacement
