How to get water out of a VRO tank

Left the plug in my boat and of course it rained and filled the boat so full that it went over my VRO tank. So I turned the tank upside down and let it drain all day but I can still see water droplets in the oil that is stuck to the sides and bottom of the tank.

I thought about putting in a bit of kerosene in to rinse the tank out but after seeing the sensors in the bottom of the tank I figured that might be a bad idea. Any suggestions?

Can you take a long air nozzel and blow out the water?

Pour some rubbing alcohol in the tank and swish it around for a while then dump it out and let air dry. I have never known alcohol to hurt any sensor and have used it on auto sensors to clean them.

I'd be careful using alcohol. It will attack certain plastics and make them brittle. Simply put 1/2 a liter of TCW3 back in the tank and swish it around. Then position the tank so that one corner is pointing downward. Leave sit overnight. The water will collect in the lowest corner allowing you to suck it out with a hand evac pump. This is also the best way to remove water from a fuel tank

Never knew that schematic. I know that fuel tank dryer is nothing more than alcohol. I was thinking leave it in there 2-3 minutes tops. But your way is a sure fire safe method.

Thanks guys! Got it tilted right now and everything is pooling in the corner below the scew cap. I have a hand pump I will use to get it out.
