Would reversing battery cables on a 82' 90hp with ADI immediately short out electronics (trigger, switch boxes, etc) or would it lead to later problems down the road after the cables are installed right. I worked on this motor about a month ago when someone couldn't figure out why starter was turning backwords, Engine never turned over. After fixing this and a little tinkering it started right up and ran great. A couple of weeks later I get it back and they say it just would not start. After I changed the starter they fried I can get it to fire on 1,2,5,6. Trigger, Stator, coils all check out for resistance but I can't check DVA. I'm thinking trigger but if anyone can tell me how to confirm this I would appreciate it. Thanks for the help
