I recently purchased a used 1991 Bayliner Capri w/ a Force 90 HP. My best friend is a Boat Mechanic and everything checked out fine. It ran well for 2 months, and then the last 3-4 times the motor would barely crank and not turn over. I replaces the Battery and it seemed to work. I have another issue though. After the Motor Starts and turns over, it immediately stops and turns off. It does this like 5-6 times before I can get it running. Basically it starts and then clunks out. My friend says it is because it is old but I know there is a better explanantion. I was thinking Fuel Line or Pump? I am a total novice and have no clue. Spark Plugs?? what do you guys think?

Do you clean the plugs periodically? IF not, they will get fouled and the engine will be hard to start. When was the last time you decarbed the engine?

I suggest you read the FAQ and do a decarb and clean your plugs then see what happens.
