i bought a 1976 johnson 55hp seahorse, put muffs on it and ran it for a few minutes and noticed no water coming out of exaust ports, but was coming out a hole towards the front of the boat motor towards the stern ,i thought water comes out the back of the motor, also exaust and some water coming out of the propeller, is this normal

On my 1976 75 hp Johnson, the muffs don't make an airtight fit, so there is water trickling out all over the place, including the prop. I also have a stream of water coming out the front of the motor like you do, so I think that is normal. I have tried to minimize the muffs as much as possible, and prefer to drive 7 miles to the boat ramp and back it in the water. If I do use the muffs, I don't run it higher than 2000 rpm and don't do it for more than a minute.

thanks for the answer, water was coming out every where,so i'm going to the lake also
