I have a 1.5hp Evinrude Sportsman model 4425 (made between 1948-1951) that starts up and then dies after 15 seconds.

Opened up the carburetor and found that the "needle valve" is broken in half.

See attached picture:



The other end of the needle valve connects to the knob that reads choke, run, and off.

Does anyone know where I can order a replacement "needle valve" and what is the part number to this piece?

Anyways,

Found the part number (evinrude part number 590625 for future reference)

Local boat repair shop wanted $25 for it, just went to home depot and got a bolt (25 cents) and fabricated it into the piece.

Everything works just fine now.
