My problem is with my Johnson 55hp motor. I can't say the exact year because I do not know. But I am positive it is in the mid 70's. The problem entails when trying to reach full throttle with the motor. When the motor approaches full throttle is instantly shuts off. It doesn't bog down or slow down, it just all out shuts off. When I attached a volt-meter to it, I found when the motor hit 3.4 volts (it only reaches this voltage at full throttle) it instantly shuts off. I'm not sure what the problem is. I guess any type of advice would be helpful. I know very little about boat motors so that doesnt help the problem any at all. Thank you
