The cost depends if you are going to do the work, or have a mechanic do it for you? Also how many damaged parts there are. Sometimes it is better to get a rebuilt power head. Again depending on how badly the motor was damaged. You have many options. I would first suggest asking a local mechanic what it would cost.

Would have it done by a mechanic. Not sure how much damage yet. Was running down lake when it just shutdown, Started it back up and was making a VERY bad knocking sound so I shut it down immediately and got a tow in. Going to have to wait a little while before I can take it to a mechanic, I was just trying to get a guess of about how much?

Do a search at the I'boats store for a rebuilt power head for you're motor. Then figure 150-200 more for the mechanic (depending on your location.). Should be a close number to start with.

You should have a mechanic look at it before you call the coroner. Hope you're motor isn't as bad as you think.

If its a crossflow, take it and the $3000 and get a newer model engine, if its a looper get a estimate. My $.02
