I have a 91' Evinrude Tracker 150 and while running down the lake a the other day it all of a sudden shut off, then when I started it back up in was making a BAD knocking sound, so I shut it off and got a tow back in. I'm guessing its the piston if so about how much will that cost to get fixed? I can't take it in right away but hopefully I can soon.
Before you condemn the powerhead, take the lower unit off. Could be something let go in the bottom end. It is sometimes hard to tell a knock in the powerhead from a knock in the lower unit.
