Need help identifing year and size of evinrude

Help Please! I bought what I think is a 25hp 60s model evinrude. The guy lost the hood but he said it had a Fastwin hood on it. The number on the serial plate is 15036A 02533. Can somebody please help me identify this motor, or give me a good site to identify it? I searched but I never had much luck. Any other info would be greatly appreciated as well (spark plugs, fuel ratio, etc.) thanks alot! Brownstone

15036 is a 1962 Evinrude 18hp. Spark plugs J4C gapped at .030". Fuel ratio is 24:1, but there are enough opinions out there that you can pick whatever you want. Lower unit takes 80-90 weight outboard gear oil, lots of opinions on that too.

Thanks, I need a hood for this motor if anybody can help, keep the info coming I really appreciate it!

I don't know where you are, but in Bayville NJ, there is a place called Trixies. They are basically a graveyard for at least 200 outboards. Call them at (609)269-5838. Can't be that much to ship.

tim's outboard 218-682-2331 will ship, and they're reasonable.. tell 'em kirby sent ya!
