I have had this boat for about two years and about halfway through this season I noticed some trouble shifting into the Forward gear. It has no trouble shifting into reverse but when I try to put it into a foward shift the motor starts to click reapeatedly like it is trying to shift. Then after increasing the RPM's by pushing the throttle forward it will go into forward. I don't want to wreck the gears by increasing these RPM's to put it into gear. Should I replace the forward gear and pinion, clutch/shift cables or am I missing another option? Also sometimes when it is in the forward gear it starts to make a buzzing sound out of where you push the throttle forward and back. Is this a related problem or different?

Hi,do you have a 2 piece lower unit? if so it just may need adjusting.Let me know and I'll tell you the best way to do it.As for as the buzzing do you mean it's in the control box?
