Took my 88 150 mercury in to checkon the tilt and trim leaking down and a little rough on idle speed. Guess what. The whole tilt and trim motor needs replaced,although it goes up and down smoothly, it just leaks off. Said I needed a new valve body.
$625. I had this engine tuned and carbs. done a month ago. Everything was fine and I used it one time afterward and high speed was great.
, now I am told #1 cylinder has issues with aluminum transfer to the spark plug and #1 and #3 cyl are not firing at idle but as revs pick they do.
Hope this guy is not ripping me off. The total would be a little less than $4000 which I will not put into the boat. He is willing to make an offer for the boat though. It is all 88 model Nitro bass boat and boat is in good shape with trolling motor and good trailer.
