Weight of 4.3 vs 3.0l?

I have a 1993 Spectrum 1956 Aluminum open bow.
The boat has an optional 4.3l Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 2.
The factory sales brochure that I have states the weight of the boat with a 3.0l Merc at 1275 pounds.
How much more does the 4.3 configuration weigh?

According to the Merc. website. the 2008 models weigh.

3.0L tks 635 pounds
4.3L tks 846 pounds.

Both with Alpha drives.

I actually feel like this thing is overpowered at times. Sheesh it only weighs 1475 pounds yet has about 180 hp! I never really need to go 45 mph to go fishing.
I sure like it though...

Ayuh,.... My 262 mini-mouse ROARS thru it's 4, 1/2" straight pipes....

After about 5 or 10 minutes, it sounds like a Cessna airplane Dronning along,...Alabett, LOUDLY.....

Next time the motor is Out, the Y-pipe is goin' Back in...;)

Would that be a four cylinder Cessna it sounds like?

I need to get a buddy to do a high speed pass with it so I can hear what it really sounds like. There is a certain motor that is found with mercruiser that I really like the sound of not sure if its the 4.3 or the 3.0 (probably a 5.7 knowing me). I really liked the sound of my 1972 165hp Mercruiser Cobalt.

I think everyone with any type of performance toy ought to have to hear what it sound like to others. I think the guys we see around here with fart can exhausts on their low end imports might benefit the most.
But then again maybe not.
