Engine: 3.0L Mercruiser
Outdrive: Alpha one GenII
Boat: 2002 Bayliner Model 1952
Past: The boat has always run excellent since I purchased it in 2003. I have always maintained it quite well, tune up every year, new impellers, bellows etc...
What is happening since the beginning of this season: The boat starts but runs rough and seems to be running rich. You can smell the un-burnt fuel. If you shut the engine off and restart immediately it seems to go away, meaning it runs fine and smell goes away.
-Also... It could be running great for 20 minutes at cruising speed or FOT and out of nowhere the engine will bog down and un-burnt fuel smell will return.
This will not clear up on it's own by continuing to run. The ONLY way it will correct is if you stop, shut the engine off and re-start right away. This will immediately clear up the issue. This will continue to occur throughout the day which is a real pain.
What I have tried so far: I put in three bottles of dry gas early in the season and filled up with fresh gas twice.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/solution.
