07 Bayliner 175 3.0 alpha 1 gen 2. Finally able to splash for the first time this season the other day. All went well for the first 20 minutes or so, cruising around 3,000 rpm and then it seemed as if the engine was going to quit. I throttled down to idle and slowly brought it up to around 2,500 rpm. It would go no higher. If I tried the engine would quit. I played around decreasing and increasing the throttle and after about 5 minutes the problem stopped. It ran like new. Problem solved? NOT. Went out yesterday after my normal get ready and running on muffs. Started fine, idled normally, temp, oil pressure and everything else seemed OK. Backed away from dock and it happened again. This time 1,500 rpm was the highest it would go. Any more and the engine would quit. I was able to motor around between idle and 1,500 thinking it would "fix itself" again but it seemed to be getting worse. At the dock in neutral it rev's normally but in gear at a little more than idle - problem.

Does this sound like bad fuel?
