Boat won't plane and prop seems to spin out

I was driving back at an idle then when i tried to pick up speed the boat would not plane out. it was driving fine earlyer in the day. and when i try and take off the boat just won't plane and then when it gets to the point that it feels like it would the prop feels like it spins out. the boat is a 225 crownline br with a 454.

it sounds like there's a good chance you spun the hub in the prop... or worse case the engine coupler. take a close look at the prop and see if there is any evidence of the hub coming apart. if you've a spare prop and it's convenient, take a ride with a different prop.

Never experienced a spun hub before but they say there is a pretty good burning rubber smell when it happens. Like wca tim says, swap props first.

When is the last time you checked the engine alignment?

thanks a lot but i buddy of mine told me he had a simular problem and he said he took it to the shop and they found nothing wrong with the prop or the outdrive and said the prop could of been loose. so i just took the prop off and put it back on and it seems to be running like normal now. thanks for your help

Ayuh,... Sounds like you had it Trimmed Out too far....
