1968 Johnson Model # JHF23A, is missing the complete pull start assembly, checked ebay, and cant find anything. Can I buy the complete thing somewhere? Can someone post a picture of what one would look like so I at least have an idea.

Is this what I'm looking for? This is on Ebay, they say it came off a 1972 15hp Johnson, would it fit my 3hp?

NOPE!

That 3 did not change hardly at all from about 1957 until the 4 hp replaced it.
Try tcoutboard. I know theyll have it.

I see tons of recoils that will work on motors up to 1967, but none for a 1968 3hp, I assume its because the old ones mounted on top of the flywheel, and this one uses a gear to turn the flywheel, I cant even tell where the thing mounts... I will try tcoutboards.

Still though if someone has a picture handy of the motor (under the cover) could they post it please, I ordered a manuel but it hasn't arrived yet.

Call Tim's outboard in Hackensack, Mn. 218-682-2331 Reasonable and quick ship. Have the model number handy, to be assured of the correct recoil.

Tell 'em kirby sent ya.. haha
