This is my first Mercury and a water pump issue is driving me nuts. Replaced impeller & pump, cleaned all water passages & tubes. I get a water stream out pee hole at idle, but it stops at low speed. After ripping it apart several times, I can only assume it has something to do with intake being right above the prop and the wash from the prop is disrupting the water flow or creating too many bubbles for the pump to pull water.
I've tried a couple different trims on the motor. It seems to work a little better if the motor is deep, really deep, in the water, but that nearly doubles the draw of my boat. Any ideas?
