1985 Mercury 90 HP Inline 6 - Tach pole setting

Greetings. 1985 Mercury 90 HP inline 6 (the tower of power). Adding a tach. I'm pretty sure the pole setting is "12" but wanted to double check with the forum. Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge!

12 pole, 6 pulse

Faria Tach - I don't see a setting for pulse on the back. The number 5 on the only adjustable dial is the setting for 12 poles. Hope it works!

It'll either be right on, or read half speed. Should be easy to discern. That engine won't idle at 400 rpm
