Hello all, new to the forums and just got a boat. I bought a 1999 Tracker Pro 165 and I also bought a 2004 50hp Johnson to get me moving.

Since I plan on putting this on the boat myself is there anything I need to know other than torque the bolts good and tight? I have new controls and cables as well as a trim and tilt harness. I plan on removing the oil injection since there is not a place for the oil tank and I prefer to know that it is getting oil.

What about charging, I see that the motor has cables to get power from the batteries, but what about sending back to the batteries?

Guys, any info is greatly appreciated. I am plenty mechanically inclined but just have never done this before.

Thanks

Shawn

.

See your Johnson-Evinrude dealer and have him order the factory rigging booklet for you. It is inexpensive and starts out with the basics on mounting and rigging a motor correctly, plus all the info on controls, steering, cables, batteries, etc.
