Problems stem from a combination of wet spring season, plug left in, and unknown hole in the cover....the result was water in the bilge/hull deep enough to submerge the engine compartment to a level one inch above the starter. Now trying to start the motor, I get one click coming from the starter but no crank. In addition, the bilge pump and exhaust blower doesn't work. Battery checks ok and the main breaker on top of the engine does not appear to be tripped. That's as far as I've gone to this point. Before I start digging in, is there an electrical component in the engine area that could act as a single point failure for all electrical in the engine area?

ALWAYS! Check the ground cables to the block and battery cables to the starter and solenoid.

More than likely, if the starter was sitting in water for a while. It'll need to be replaced. They can be successfully rebuilt if you know what you're doing.

EDIT: Rocket, Please use the PM's (Private Messages) for such things, not the forums.
Thanks.
