A leak-down test would be a better way to judge the health of your motor, personally I think it's fine. If you're worried about your numbers and you're using an automotive gauge, run the motor until warm, put it back on the trailer and pull the plugs for your test. Make sure the throttle plates are propped open and that you have a fully charged cranking battery. The numbers should come up. I have two of these and would only recommend changing the water pump impellor annually, they're great motors.
