I just installed a starter on my 25hp Johnson.
I want to run it off my trolling motor batteries that are wired together making 24 volts. Is it ok to run the starter leads to just one battery?
The outboard doesn't have a charger so that's not an issue.

Yes you can but ideally you should run a separate battery for the starter motor so you can always start it if you run down the trolling bats. You can run a smaller battery for the starter bat since your motor is so small.

Just remember don't try to wire your motor in parallel to both battery's since you have a series connection to make 24VDC for the trolling motor...if you do you will short the battery banks and cause a short-BIG NO-NO!

Remember 12vdc at each battery connected normally, choose one battery or the other to connect your motor too.
