i have a 2005 mercury 40hp , i allways notice my meter read around 13 volts, but last weekend i notice its around 12 volts , i was wounding how to check to see if it is still charging or not. any help thank you

Well if it is sitting at 12V it is not charging. I am not familiar with the layout of that particular engine but it will have a rectifier/regulator combination that is likely burned out.
