I have a 1973 OMC - Chevy 4.1L inline 6. I am replacing the engine and in the process I installed a new electronic ignition module (replacing the points) in the distributor. I noticed it has a vaccum advance plate on the new ignition, but the boat doesn't have a vaccum advance setup on the distributor.

What should I do with the vaccum advance adjustment? All the way to the left, all the way to the right or somewhere in between? Do I need to secure it so the timing doesn't change?

Help is greatly appreciated...

Sounds to me like you have the wrong kit. You have one for automotive, not marine
What is this "Module" you have. Manufacturer and part numbers, etc. may help.
