Default Tracker DeepV16 Live-Well questions

I have a 1993 Tracker pro Deep V16 boat that I bought used.
I have a couple questions about the live well.

1. What is the correct plug size?
(I use a 1" and it fits, but its so snug its hard to fit in and hard to get out, I tried other common sizes 3/4 is too small)

2. When i pull the plug for the well it will just fill up, Im always scared of playing with the plug to drain it incase i can't get it back in right (Due to the wrong plug size in question 1).
Question is, Is there any mod or device I can do/use to make the water not come in when i pull the plug?

Im hoping someone has the same or similar boat and dealt with this problem.
Any tips would be appreciated.

i have a 2009 proguide V16 and mine doesnt do that. there maybe a big design change tween mine and yours. the livewell plug should be snug but so much you have to fight with it. the previous owner probably lost the original or destroyed it and replaced it with the wrong one. your local tracker dealer will be able to tell you the original part number for that boat or email tracker for that part number. as for the filling the well when the well plug is out i would test that at a quiet ramp and see how far or when the filling stops. your live well would have to be below water level for that to happen. my live well is above water level. just leave the crank attached from the trailer to the boat and watch what happens as it fills.

if the filling overflows the well and into the bilge your bilge pump can keep up with it until you get the plug in or the boat out of the water. i would guess the filling will stop somewhere around halfish or so. it really sounds like the well is below the waterline for some or all of it.

Use a wine bottle cork screw.I have a 1995 Pro Deep V-17.It works perfect.Just let it stay in the livewell,at all times, then it will always be there.Just use your knife and whittle a little off the ends. Then it will go in even when wet already.Good luck.
