water from lower unit?

1987 johnson 150. i replaced the impeller and ran the motor on the trailer with the ears. i have water leaking from where the lower unit and the midsection meet. big worry?

Not at all ... that section is not sealed and normally full of water. You also had water from a bunch of drain holes, right?

Dawgs, The newer Johnnys have slits built in to that seam to let the water drain more easily. It sounds like you are fine.....

I had this same issue over the weekend when I changed my impeller. I was told I may have broke the seal on the leg..... made by the paint. No worries
