40 HP Merc Miss

Hi,

I have a 1997 40 HP Mercury outboard. It seems to have a miss, but only from 2000-3500 rpms. Then it seems to go away. The plugs seem to be firing fine the compression is also fine. Any idea's on what it could be?

Hi Have A 1975 Merc 402 40hp Found Water On One Of The Plugs How Did The Water Get In The Engine And My Water Pump Keep Going Out This Make Two In One Year

The mid range miss could be syncronization or a rich mixture caused by to large of back drag jets or a high float level/bad inlet needle.
