Hit mud overheated

Hit mud slowly churned threw it for about 50 seconds got out and overheated spiked at 220 but was near dock pulled in is it possible i screwed up my mercrusier 5.7 IO

That kind of abuse could very well have wrecked a few things. How does the prop look.:eek:

The first thing you would want to check is the inlet vents to see if they are packed with mud, if they are then no water or not enough water will be getting through to the pump.
And what out drive do you have on the boat?? That will help to determine where to go from here.

sounds like youve sucked some mud up through your outdrive. I would suggest taking off the lower unit of your outdrive and checking your impeller and see if any mud is stuck in lower unit. Then i would back flush water through the system to make sure water flow is good.
