I recently bought a used boat with a 1985 30 hp yamaha/mariner. I knew it needed a water pump. I replaced the water pump and it seems to be discharging a good amount of water out the exhaust port but I noticed that right in front on the lower unit there are two holes. There is a substantial amount of water (cold) coming from these holes. It appears as if the lower unit is filling up with water. Is this normal?
