1990 j/e 140 no spark

I have a 1990 johnson/evirude 140 thats been sitting a year or so.I now have it turning over like it should,put fresh gas and oil in it but i have no spark.I pulled the plugs and grounded them no spark.I bought a spark tester.. No spark .Any ideads what i should look for?

do you have the saftey key hooked up
also you can disconnect the ground to the key switch to
eleminate a bad ignition switch.

Pull the black/yellow wire at the powerpack and retry.

My apologies on highjacking this thread but I have the same issue with my 1994 150 johnson. what does pulling the yellow and black wire do and then what do you do, check to see if there is spark?

The black with yellow stripe wire kills spark by grounding the powerpack; it's circuit is completed when the ignition key is turned to off or when the emergency lanyard is pulled.

You disconnect it first in troubleshooting to check for a short or problem with the ignition switch.
