1993 3.0 OMC Cobra missing on #2 cylinder

I have a 1993 OMC 3.0 Cobra that sat up for several years. When we went to fixing it up, the intake manifold was rotten and no longer available. We purchased a new late model manifold and matching head. This was told to us the required move to repair the problem as the intake was no longer available. The water pump has been replaced, the immpeller, the head, intake, rebuilt the carb, plugs, & plug wires. We have put the motor back together with all new gaskets and adjusted the valves properly. Before we started this, the original intake was causing it to skip on the #1 & 2 cylinders. After all of this, it still skips on the #2. It is firing, it is just not hitting. Any suggestions?

Ayuh,... So what's the Compression #s on the motor,..??

Cylinder 1 was 178, #2 was 180, #3 was 181, & #4 was 177

We upgraded the head from the old split port style to the new HO 8 port head and replaced the intake with the newer 8 port Holley intake P/N 3858870. The head casting # is 14096620. I don't know if this changes anything or not. I think this is the 2 piece rear main seal block. Will it matter about changing the head?

Ayuh,... Your #s are Great,... I'm just fishing for the reason #2 ain't firin'....

It's pretty odd,....Especially if it's gettin' Fire...

Yeah, my father was a mechanic his whole life, my brothers are mechanics, I'm machanically inclined, & we're stumped by this. My father passed away so we can't call on him, and we don't have experience with inboards. Could it be the Holley 2 barrel? One of the sprayers drip while it's running, the other does not. We tried dripping fuel manually on that side of the carb, but it still didn't help. ??????????

did you ever get the motor running. I have the same proplem with the same engine. geting spark and gas.
