My dad bought a 21' starcraft boat a couple of years ago. On his maiden voyage, it took in so much water that it almost sank. I'm trying to find what year this boat was made so maybe I can help him get it going. He has the title - somewhere.
The boat has an id plate mounted inside the hull at the chaptain's chair. It is a 21' Chieftain V I.O. with a serial no 67 22127. The setup is an inboard/outboard Mercruiser, 4 cylinder, 120 HP.
I'm assuming the boat is prior 1972. Does the first 2 digits in the serial no. represent the year? I would appreciate any feedback!
