Problem with tilt setting

I have a 1989 40 hp long shaft electric manual tilt set Evinrude motor. Model
TE 40 ELCEC. The manual tilt setting very quickly looses its setting and allows the motor to swing clear in to the transom clamp stop. How do you fix such a problem?

Can you send pics of the underneath parts that the tilt lever connects too?
