Hi everyone. First post, just found this board. Bought a 1995 Chris-Craft 18 Concept (teal accents) with Cobra 5.0 FL motor and OMC outdrive. Know next to nothing about boats, but it was in great shape as far as I can tell. Seller moving from Calif to Wisc. didn't want to sell, but didn't want to takewith him. Garaged. I'm the 3rd owner. Paid $6500 with trail-rite trailer, a cover, and about $700 in accessories and toys. Test drove it and it ran well from what I could tell. Started up from cold after about 4 pumps. Once warmed up, it started up the 3 times we tried it. Would like to know the HP of this engine, how to tell how many hours it has been run (previous owner said he used it 5-6 times in the two years he had it, and he didn't know of any hours meters), fuel tank size, known problems to look for. Original engine with no known mods. Engine compartment was clean, rust-free, and dry. Just a light coat of dust. Owner never cleaned the engine and says he never had to drain the bilge. Was serviced this year (used once since then), and has a new battery. Had the capt's chair re-stitched along with a corner of the bimini top. Cleaned the interior and wash/waxed the exterior. Taking it out on Tues with friends to get to know it. Thoughts, things to look for? Thank you very much in advance.
