JB's kind of messing with you. The mixing instructions "1 pint of oil in 6 gallons of gas" yields a 48:1 mixture, not a 50:1 mixture. But everyone (incorrectly) calls it 50:1.
A quart of oil in 6 gallons of gas gives a 24:1 mixture.
All of which is pretty meaningless in practice....mix in 16 oz for 6 gal, 8 oz for 3 gal, etc and life is good.
