but I have been through the manual a bunch of times.

There is a grease fitting on the right side of the upper as you're looking towards the bow, up close towards the transom about half way down the case. I can't find anywhere in the manual that says what this is for or what type of grease you would use.

sounds as though you are referring to the grease zirc for the gimbal bearing.

this is actually located on the transom plate, and is approx 1" from the transom

quicksilver u-joint and gimbal bearing grease, 10 pumps

Thanks. I thought it might be for the gimble but the manual says to grease the gimble the drive must be taken apart.

r u talking about on the outdrive housing on the starboard side about 1/2 way down.thats the gimbal bearing fitting.
