I have a 130 mercruiser that I had new impeller installed by a reputable shop a year ago. Has worked great since then. Only used the boat about 30 hours since the work was done. Was at the lake watersking my kids for about 2 hours everything ran fine then all of a sudden it got hot. I shut down and let it cool for an hour started it up and headed for the dock (10 min max) and it got hot again. Could I have gotten something stuck in it? How would i troubleshoot? Can I backflush and if so, how? Unfortunetly the shop that I have used for the last 20 years the owner called it quits and closed his business in January. Any help would be appreciated.

Ayuh,... Anything is Possible....

Start by pulling the Lower Unit,+ installing a New Impeller,...
While the unit is Off,... Backflush from the T-Stat Housing to the lower unit...
It could also be the T-Stat,... It's of course in it's housing...
