Good day to all

As the post says can I convert a older 2 stroke 35 or 40 hp that has remote controls to a tiller control.

As always thanks for any and all help.

Re: From a remote to tiller

My buddy recently did the same with his 1972 Johnson 25hp and it's been working out well for him.

Is the motor lacking a proper tiller handle? That would be the main hurdle after removing the steering cables and bracket. It is also nice to start the motor with the pull cord rather than having to bring a battery to crank start. Just less to deal with really.
