My speedo was working very sparingly last year and this spring they just quit all together so I bought new Faria Gauges. It was time to change out because the lens was not clear and previous owner did not take very good car of cleaning them.
I have install the new gauge but it still not working. I found the tube to be cut/frayed at the barrell connector on the back of the lower unit. Repaired that hose and blowed air from engine to gauge she is moving. Next come the pitot hose running into th elower unit. I inserted a drill bit to clean out the trash in the pitot hole on back of lower unit but still no luck with the speedo working. I have 12.48V at the gauge so that has been eliminated with power on.
I have also inserted a small diameter wire into the hole to see if its stopped up further up the pitot hole then the drill bit can reach and she still not working.
What is my next course of action?
