Small service

I have an old 6 hp johnson in pretty ruff shape and i want to do a small service and because I must order them online so i need to make a package so whats the must change stuff on it?

I guess all gaskets , a karb kit , piston ring ( because compression isnt the best), and what else so to make it run good?

What is the compression on each cylinder? 6 HP's usually don't need rings until they have a tremendous amount of hours on them. Does the motor have spark on each cylinder?

Carburetor kit w/new float

So I dont need piston rings ,right? Il check the compression and than make a decision on that. And whats the lowest compression for normal working?

The motor has sparks on both cylinders but weary weak so i guess the spark plug cables , Coils ,Points ,Condensers are necessary.

Impeller was changed 2 weeks ago so no need for that.

I already have an manual for all 2 to 33 hp models so i guess that will work?

And because gaskets arent really easy to find is there any way that i could make my self new ones using so called liquid gaskets ?

And the carb kit has in it what?

on laingsoutboards usually parts are for 74 and newer outboards and i have a 69 so is that a problem

what year is your 6hp? johnson or evinrude? exactly what parts do you need?

They come both ways. 18-5006 is for two of each and 18-5011 is one of each.

And thats here on iboats. But i will buy on laings because on iboat everything is out of stock
