Looking at purchasing a 2000 Angler 20' dual console. It is powered by a 125 Merc, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether this is enough power for this boat. Specs say it weighs 1900 lbs, which is less than some other comparable boats (i.e. Trophy). Thanks. Kevin

Probably ok but depends on what you're looking for.

We run a 115 4s Yamaha on our 18' Century dc which has a dry weight of 1900#. Loaded (2 people) she's probably just under 3500# and runs 40 mph w/ 4.5 secs to plane.

Sea trial it and see for yourself.

What is the maximum rated horsepower? Anything less than 75% of that and you'll be wishing for more HP.

Max hp is 185, so yeah, could be a bit low. I think I will keep looking. Thx for info.
