This is probably a dumb question but here goes. I am considering putting a flush mount VHF radio in my console. What I'm wondering is later on if I want to change radios will this limit me to what kind/size radio I can put in later? I don't want to cut a bigger whole or have to do a patch job to make it smaller. Or are most radios a standard size?

... a lot of stereos come with filler plates or large face plates to take up spaces that dont readily conform to a perfect fit. a stereo sleeve then adheres to the face plate, the stereo then slides into this sleeve and clicks inplace. you should be ok, long as that VHF was not the size of an ol ham radio.
