Default Proline 230 classic stringers question

New member here, I am working on replacing the stringers from my Proline 230 classic, I was amazed when I cut the floor and discovered how thin the stringers on this boat were. The measure 1/2" X 4" X 19' the fiberglass around the wood is in perfect condition. I thought that for this size boat the stringers would be at least 2" wide. The whole bottom was full of foam (what a nightmare to remove) can someone please let me know what kind of wood to use? There was a small of section (front) that still had some good wood there, two pieces one on top of the other. Has anyone ever seen this type of stringer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
