Hello all,
About 2 weeks ago, I had my boat at the dealer to have a PCM replaced on the engine. Everything was fine until yesterday when I cranked the engine and it died after about 45 seconds of idling. I've been unable to get the engine started since. Don't know a whole lot about these things, but it's tied up to a dock right now and won't run.
One of the first things I thought of was to check the primer bulb. When I went to do this I found a small suprise. The original gray fuel line with primer bulb was no longer there. In it's place was a black rubber line with no bulb. The hose had been cut off where it goes into the grommet on the outside of the motor and this black line was spliced in with a plastic barb and a couple of zip ties. I called the dealer today and they said that the mercury tech who came to look at my boat when it was first in the shop replaced the line and said it should have never had the bulb to begin with. Seems to me that if that was the case, he'd at least made a better repair that what he did. Any thoughts on what might be happening? I'll clarify any way that I can, but I'm kinda lost at the moment.....
