sounds like you not adjusting your not setting you trim and tilt to match your rpms to plane out, Are you adjusting as you gain speed to pull your bow up??

if your just cruising at a low rpm it run's good, as you put it under a load or try increase speed power start's to fall at about 3500 rpms, you back the throttle up a little, then try's to run better, it will not reach over 4000 rpm, water in gas maybe,or timing, fuel problem?

Re: newbie needs help!

Start with a full tuneup including ALL filters, whatever you have, plugs, wires if you do not know the age, etc. With TBI, you should also have the trouble codes read either by a shop or you may want to buy a reader. If you search the forum you can get specifics on the readers. You will need a factory manual to make sense of the codes. If you post engine numbers (model) there will be other suggestions. The tuneup is a must though..

It's possible. There is only one mounted on the engine, but there could be a primary filter between the fuel tank and the engine.

Ayuh,.... I don't do Volvos,.... Go Look....
