mariner starter

89 200 mariner, went to start it on the muff yesterday, it cranked over a few times as it was trying to start, then it just quit, it turns sloly then after about 3-4 secs. it turns alittke faster but not enough to engage the fly wheel, any thoughts?

sounds like battery weak. charge and try again let us know what happens

can't be have 2 batterys on a onboard charger system, system says they're 100 %

Well here we go, I took the starter off and hooked to you 2500hd batteries, still wouldn't engage the bendix the full way, so I'm thinking brushes, I took the starter apart, brushes are in perfect shape. Did contitnuity test getting good reading on 1/2 so so on the opposite half, so I'm thinking the winding are on their way out. Where a good place to get new/rebuilt starters from?
